Malang makers release character posters of Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor, Disha Patani; trailer to release on 6 January

Malang-Poster

Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani-starrer Malang is one of the most-anticipated films of 2020. Malang is a revenge drama, helmed by Aashiqui 2 director Mohit Suri, and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Luv Ranjan, Ankur, and Jay Shewakramani.

The makers released the first poster of Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor, and Disha Patani’s character in the film. The actor also shared an image of it on social media. Sporting a pair of jeans, Kapur’s character is intense and screams into nothingness, almost as a sign of extreme anger. The poster is accompanied by a quote that says, “Unleash the madness,” which may well be a pointer to Kapur’s character arc in the film.

The backdrop of the film is mainly a thriller with a romantic angle that plays out between Aditya and Disha. The film also stars Kunal Kemmu in a pivotal role. A Mumbai Mirror report had previously stated Anil Kapoor’s character in the film will have shades of grey. In fact, a character poster of Kapoor was released a week ago on the seasoned actor’s birthday, where he sports rose-tinted glasses and a police officer’s uniform.

Malang marks the reunion of Aditya and Mohit after a period of six years, post Aashqiui 2. Meanwhile, Kunal comes on board Mohit’s film after having worked with him on Kalyug 14 years ago.

The film is slated to hit screens on 7 February. The trailer will be released on 6 January.

The trailer of Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming film Street Dancer 3D will have its digital release on 18 December. It will also be showcased across cinemas, prior to the screening of Dabangg 3 on 20 December.

Previously, the Street Dancer’s trailer was scheduled to be out on 12 December, which is also producer Bhushan Kumar’s birthday.

Confirming the delay, director Remo D’Souza told Bollywood Hungama, “There’s lots of VFX and 3D stuff is happening and right now we are all working on that. I am keen to show the trailer to everybody and have been working round the clock to get it complete by then. It will be a proper two-three minute trailer. You can expect some amazing, never-seen-before dances in it – and something very special which I cannot reveal right now (sic).”

The report further adds that Kumar and D’Souza are reportedly keen to have Salman Khan at the trailer launch.

The makers have previously called Street Dancer 3D “India’s biggest dance film”. D’Souza had also said that it is unrelated to the ABCD franchise. Dhawan and Kapoor will once again share screen space after 2015’s ABCD 2.

Mumbai Mirror had reported that Kapoor trained in five different dance forms – Afro, Krump, Locking and Popping, Animation Tutting and Urban. She joined the cast after Katrina Kaif opted out because of a scheduling conflict.

Shakti Mohan, Nora Fatehi, Prabhu Deva, Sonam Bajwa and Aparshakti Khurana also star in vital roles. Mohan will make her Bollywood debut with this feature. The first schedule took place in Amritsar after which, the cast and crew shot in London.

Street Dancer 3D releases on 24 January, 2020.

This film is based on the book The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh by Sanjay Baru, who was the former Prime Minister’s media advisor.

The trailer opens with Singh, played by Anupam Kher, being compared to Bhishma from Mahabharata. Baru, portrayed by Akshaye Khanna, observes that unlike the mythological figure, who had to deal with two warring families, the Pandavas and Kauravas, Singh only has to face one. The Accidental Prime Minister’s trailer gives a brief glimpse into the internal politics of the Congress party like the tense dynamic between Singh and former party president Sonia Gandhi (Suzanne Bernert), on issues of national importance. Her keenness to have son Rahul (Arjun Mathur) rise to the position of power is also an aspect shown in the trailer..

Kher, who revealed at the trailer launch how he had prepared for the role, has almost accurately recreated Singh’s mannerisms and body language for the film. “The biggest challenge for me was the voice. It is the most difficult role I have ever done because everyone knows Manmohan Singh very well,” the actor said at the trailer launch event, reports The Quint.

The film also stars Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi, Divya Seth Shah as Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur and Ram Avatar Bhardawaj as the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Directed by debutante Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, the film’s screenplay has been written by Mayank Tewari, Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, Karl Dunne and Aditya Sinha. The music of the film will be composed by Sudip Roy and Sadhu S Tiwari.

The film will release in cinemas on 11 January. Vicky Kaushal’s patriotic drama Uri: The Surgical Attack will also hit theatres on the same day.

Zero trailer: Shah Rukh Khan takes a leap of faith for love in Aanand L Rai’s colourful film

The makers of Zero recently released the trailer of the much awaited film. The trailer was released on Shah Rukh Khan’s 53rd birthday.

Still from Zero trailer

The trailer depicts Anushka, who is wheelchair-bound, as Shah Rukh’s love interest. There are hilarious moments in the trailer, one being an altercation between Shah Rukh and his father, when Khan replies saying, “Guthka khaate rehte ho, sperm chhoti ho gayi hogi.”

Unfortunately, Anushka and his love story does not reach fruition and Khan moves on to Katrina, who is portrayed as a celebrity. Most of the Zero trailer revolves around the three main characters. Finally, the trailer takes us all by surprise with a sweeping shot of a rocket, with Khan’s voice over in the background, saying, “Kahaaniyon mein suna tha ke aashiq mohabbat mein chaand tak le aate hain, saale humne yeh baat seriously le liyi.” Zero may have Khan taking the leap of faith for his love.

Khan will reportedly not be the only one playing a special role in the film (he plays a vertically challenged man). Kaif will be playing an alcoholic in the film who struggles with her addiction, while Sharma plays a struggling scientist.

Director Aanand L Rai also shared a new poster of Zero featuring SRK on his birthday. The poster depicts Shah Rukh standing on what seems like a New York street amidst tall sky-scrapers with a garland of notes strung around his neck. Rai dedicated the poster to Khan’s dimples.

Recently, the first look posters of Zero were unveiled which saw Katrina and Anushka with SRK.

The teaser and title of the highly anticipated film was released on 1 January and it left the internet in a frenzy as Khan was seen as a “dwarf” for the first time by the audience. For SRK’s challenging look, the makers reportedly used advanced technology inspired from Hollywood films.

Sanju trailer: Spot Arshad Warsi’s cameo in a still from Sanjay Dutt-starrer Munna Bhai MBBS

The trailer of Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming Sanju was released on 30 May. Soon, it went viral with more than 11 million views, making it the top trend on Google’s streaming platform YouTube.

Ranbir Kapoor, in the role of Sanjay Dutt, has stunned everyone — with his appearance, voice modulation and mannerisms that starkly resemble Dutt’s.

Sanju is one of the most awaited films of the year, owing to the fact that it revolves around one of the most controversial actors of Bollywood and his even more controversial life.

While director Rajkumar Hirani is known for his cinematic sensibilities, his attention to details is spot on. Apart from Ranbir, other actors in the film — Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma — look equally promising.

In midst of all these stars and the gritty trailer, many seem to have missed one more cameo. At 2.24 min, in the trailer video, Ranbir’s Sanjay Dutt is seen along with actor Arshad Warsi in a still from the song ‘M Bole Toh’ from Hirani’s 2003 hit film Munna Bhai MBBS. Although on looking closely, it can be seen that Ranbir has been photoshopped in place of Sanjay Dutt in the song, the tiny clip sure brings back memories.

An axe-wielding murderer is on the run. On a rainy night, a police officer comes face-to-face with the suspect. What happens next? Will the police officer pull the trigger? That’s the choice viewers have to make in the trailer for Amit Kumar’s Monsoon Shootout, released on Monday.

The trailer is already being tipped as India’s first interactive movie trailer. It gives the viewers a chance to decide whether the police man Adi (Vijay Varma), a young cop in training, should shoot the murder suspect Shiva (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a dreaded and infamous mob enforcer. The stage is set for a moral dilemma and each choice to be made will come with a consequence.

Should the officer gun down a possibly innocent person? Or should he let go a murderer?

Actress Priyanka Chopra launched the interactive trailer via her twitter account. She wrote, “Shoot or not to shoot? YOU get to decide what happens next in the trailer for #MonsoonShootout what a cool idea! So glad to see filmmakers innovate & push boundaries of the filmmaking process.”

Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?

Well, you’re not going to find out from this trailer, but you will get much closer to the truth.

The trailer begins with a quick montage of all that happened in the last film, Baahubali: The Beginning.

Prabhas is given a loud entry filled with swagger, slo-mo shots and death-metal music playing in the background. We finally get to see Anushka Shetty looking absolutely gorgeous as Baahubali’s wife Devasena. Their chemistry seems quite explosive, especially in the grand dance sequences.

We see Baahubali telling Katappa that nobody can kill him as long as Katappa is by his side. We then see Sivaghami Devi figuring out that a war is beginning within the kingdom, indicating that Baahubali and Bhallala Dev’s fights are going to dominate the film.

In order to see the dream-like landscape picturised in the film, the mind-blowing action sequences and all your favourite characters including Tamannaah, Rana Daggubati and Naseer, you need to watch the trailer below.

Everything is bigger, better, and grander in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion — a sure shot blockbuster.

Jolly LLB 2 trailer: Akshay Kumar plays a bumbling lawyer-turned-hero in Subhash Kapoor’s film

The Jolly LLB 2 trailer is out. And from what it offers for our consumption, it seems to have capitalised on all of its leading man Akshay Kumar’s strengths.

Akshay Kumar in Jolly LLB 2

Jolly LLB 2, the trailer, starts off as a comic caper. We see Akshay’s character, a lawyer named Jolly, on a losing streak in court. He is prone to asking his witnesses filmi questions, like when Salman Khan is likely to get married; cry like (in the words of Saurabh Shukla, who plays the judge) Nirupa Roy, and generally engage in a whole lot of theatrics that have little or no intended effect.

He also has the gift of spinning grand, catchy lines — although his bombast finds barely any appreciation in the courtroom, or at home, with his long-suffering wife Pushpa (Huma Qureshi).

Things — and the tone of the film — change suddenly when a man is killed, and his wife approaches Jolly for help seeking justice.

Jolly quickly realises that this is not just about one man’s life being brutally cut short, the victim was but one pawn in a larger nexus that involves several powerful people. When Jolly fights against them, he realises that he has the fight of his life ahead. His adversary in court is the evil advocate Annu Kapoor.

There is one dialogue that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser: Jolly says in court that whoever said ‘everything is fair in love and war’ was the biggest fool — because then it would mean that those who decapitate soldiers at the border in the name of war, or those who fling acid at women in the name of love, are justified in carrying out their heinous acts.

The Jolly LLB 2 trailer packages everything that the ‘Akshay Kumar brand’ is known for — comic timing, action, dialogue delivery, romance and pop patriotism — in its two-and-a-half minutes of run-time.
